Exhibition-Lecture at NAI

On October 19th, at 6:30 PM, Naregatsi Art Institute will host an event entitled "The Mural paintings of Akhtala: From the Middle Ages to the Present Day".
The mural paintings of the Akhtala Monastery are not only exceptional treasures of medieval Armenian culture but also a testament to the unique convergence of diverse cultural and theological traditions of the Christian East.
Their iconographic richness, color originality, and theological depth make Akhtala a unique monument of art of the 12th–13th centuries.
Rev. Fr. Hetum Tarverdyan, the spiritual pastor of the Holy Mother of God Monastery of Akhtala, will give a speech in the evening.
The photographs of the mural paintings from Akhtala Monastery will also be presented in the NAI exhibition hall at the event.
