Feast of the Holy Translators

2026-10-10 | Naregatsi Art Institute

Today, we celebrate one of the most cherished milestones of our identity, enlightenment, and spiritual awakening: the Feast of the Holy Translators.

Centuries ago, the monumental achievements of Saint Mesrop Mashtots and Saint Sahak Partev, paired with the visionary support of King Vramshapuh, inaugurated the Golden Age of Armenian literature. This historic triumph breathed the spirit of eternity into our language and identity, laying an unshakeable foundation for our culture.

Along this luminous path, Saint Gregory of Narek—in whose honor our Center is proudly named—shines with unparalleled brilliance. He became the ultimate interpreter of the human soul before God, giving voice to its boundless emotions and deepest hopes. His exquisite odes and his masterpiece, the Book of Lamentations, serve as a spiritual bridge, transforming human prayer into cosmic light and divine perfection.

Remaining steadfastly faithful to the invaluable legacy of our Holy Translators and St. Gregory of Narek, the Naregatsi Art Institute continues its sacred mission: channeling light, warmth, and inspiration to generations through art, national culture, and spiritual values.

We extend our warmest congratulations to everyone on this beautiful Feast of the Holy Translators. May our native language, the Armenian script, and our rich heritage of art remain forever vibrant in our hearts, inspiring us all to reach new creative heights.
