Meeting with the Vice Speaker of the British House of Lords Baroness Caroline Cox

On September 19th, 2009, Naregtasi Art Institute organized a meeting with the vice speaker of the British House of Lords Baroness Caroline Cox.

Caroline Cox who has become a legend for Armenians is famous for the missions that she accomplished in Nagorno Karabakh and one of the missions was to establish the rehabilitation center in Stepanakert in 1998. The center was renamed after Caroline Cox in 2005.

This event was aimed to support people with disabilities to be integrated into society.

The paintings and sculptures of the children getting treatment in the center were presented in the hall, as well as there was a concert and film screening about the activities of the center.

The head of the rehabilitation center named after Caroline Cox Vardan Tadevosyan emphasized the importance of such events, hoped that they would help to have more effective communication with each other and to build future plans together.

“We would like to enlarge our possibilities and opportunities to help more disabled people living in far regions,” said Vardan Tadevosyan.

The pomegranate sculpture, the symbol of continues life, was given to the honorable guest according to the Naregatsi Art Institute tradition.

"Baroness Caroline Cox, may your path always be blessed & may our Lord give you long life, as the guardian angels like you need to be around to spread the light of hope...,” said N. Hartounian in his closing speech.

"I am inspired by the atmosphere present at the Naregatsi Art Institute. I appreciate the way you support the spread of your great culture and make it accessible to all people."
