2026-10-13 19:00 | Naregatsi Art Institute

On October 13th, Naregatsi Art Institute hosted the jubilee concert dedicated to the 80th anniversary of qanun player, composer, and educator Vazganush Parmin.
Vazganush Parmin's original works were performed by young musicians during the concert.

Born in Gyumri in 1946, the artist began her musical career at the age of 15, enrolling in the qanun class of the Kara-Murza College (teacher: Tamara Margaryan) without any prior education. Later, she completed the music theory program and took training courses with composer Khachatur Avetisyan.

Vazganush Parmin is the author of several books; she has composed etudes, pieces, and preludes for folk instruments. Her works have been performed at various educational institutions and concert halls in Armenia. Thanks to her work and compositions, the enchanting sound of the qanun’s strings has educated many generations. In 2002, the Composers' Union of Armenia published her book "Works for Qanun".

At the end of the evening, the distinguished educator expressed deep gratitude to the organizers, guests, and performers. The concert concluded with warm applause from the audience
