Concert for Soldiers

2016-08-21 19:00 | Naregatsi Art Institute

Naregatsi Orchestra of the Naregatsi Art Institute had an exceptional concert program in the military unit near the Chinari village of the Tavush region.

-Dear soldiers, Naregatsi Orchestra of the Naregatsi Art Institute is here today to empower your spirit, - unit commander Colonel Harutyun Kharatyan started the concert with these words.

Then NAI founder Nareg Hartounian said, “First of all I want to share the emotions we have now. Under the Lord's and Nzhdeh’s guidance we have come to this borderline area to convey our nation's cultural heritage to you.
This event was initiated by a girl, who has been organizing events for the church, and when we were told that she wanted to organize a concert for the soldiers, we immediately agreed.

I was just thinking what else could be done for our soldiers who were facing this enemy 10 kilometers away. The only thing I could do was a prayer of thanks to Garegin Nzhdeh, because his words have really a divine power, patriotic prominence, and appeal of national dignity ... And when I entered the military unit and saw Nzhdeh’s picture, words...

This hall is perfectly arranged. We start with Mesrop Mashtots, with faith and continue with the spirit of Nzhdeh ... It’s wonderful ... By the soldiers' permission I will share the great Nzhdeh’s words.

“In the temple of faith and worship God and my Motherland have always been on the first place. Armenia has been saint for me, I have devoted my life to her, I am always ready to suffer, sacrifice and die for her. I believe in our future. I welcome Armenia, that was once great and blessed, and it must be such a country tomorrow... Where and when I die, believe me, my dear people, during the foreign dangers my restless spirit should come and visit his homeland and will guide your faithful sons...”

Your soldier son, Nzhdeh.”

I think there is a small Nzhdeh in all of you...

“Seta Melkonian, Monte Melkonian’s wife, was the first director of Naregatsi Art Institute, and I think that we have brought with us Monte’s spirit as well.

“It’s our pleasure to play here today and when we learned that we will have a concert for the soldiers, we set aside all of our things and came here. We are happy to present pure folk music, - Naregatsi Orchestra Artistic Director Artem Khachatur began the concert with these words.

The orchestra had a special surprise for the soldiers. The song "Our name is Armenian army", which was designed especially for them, was welcomed by the soldiers with great enthusiasm.

There was a storm of applause at the end of the concert which lasted for an hour. The orchestra, investing all its potential and enthusiasm, gained even more from the soldiers.
