Commemoration of the Armenian Genocide through the spirit of the arts

In the period of April 16-24 Naregatsi Art Institute organized a series of events dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
On April 16th “Naregatsi” Art Institute unveiled Vahan Shiroyan’s exhibition of woodcraft works dedicated to the memory of the victims of Armenian Genocide,
The Kantegh Children’s Choir performed at the opening of the exhibition.
The "Maragha" film ( Director Narine Aghabalyan, shot in 2007) was screened on the 21st of April. The heroes of the 30 minute film are telling the story on how Azebajanians entered the village of Maragha and destroyed it on April 10th of 1992. They compare the massacres of Maragha with Armenian Genocide 1915 by Ottoman Turkey.

The concert titled “The Half Kochari” dedicated to the 95th anniversary of Armenian Genocide, was presented by Vrej Aghajanyan on April 23rd.
The concert program that took place on April 24th was the final event of the long chain. Luis Vocal Quintet, Paros Choir, “Mihr” dance plastic theatre performed during the final concert. “Adana, the impulse of Genocide” film, which was produced by NAI was screened during the same evening.

NAI remembers and respects the memory of all the victims of Armenian Genocide and encourages to keep the faith for the bright future.
