Presentation at NAI

Naregatsi Art Institute hosted the presentation of the album "Tagher". Father Hovsep Aleksanyan, spiritual pastor of Saint Sargis Church in Yeghvard, began the event with the Lord's Prayer.

The event featured the song "Achkn Tsov i Tsov" sang by Gevorg Hunanyan from "Tagher" CD, as well as live performances by Yevgine Melikyan (qanun), Shushan Krpoyan (vocals), Grigor Harutyunyan (clarinet), Gohar Danielyan (violin) and Juan Zran (piano).

The history of creating the "Tagher" album was presented by editor and illustrator of the album miniature artist Lilit Vardumyan and Daniel Yerazhisht, who is the author of the interpretation and polyphony of the songs of the album.

- Today we realize that Narekatsi is alive and gives life ..., - emphasized in his speech Daniel Yerazhisht.

The idea of creating the "Tagher" album is given by the founder of the Naregatsi Art Institute Nareg Hartounian.

- I remember that this idea emerged, when I heard the gospel dedicated to Godmother, which connected me with God. It seems that this idea came from above, and I think that the spirit of Narekatsi is here today. I thank all those who have implemented my idea, especially Maestro, because if it were not him, today we would not have had this publication, - said the founder of the Naregatsi Art Institute Nareg Hartounian.

The presentation of the album was summarized by Professor of Yerevan State Conservatory Alina Pahlevanyan, who stressed that the role of the Naregatsi Art Institute in our cultural life is so great and such events are intensifying the life.

-This publication has a medicinal impact. People come here to deal with the real and pure art, - said Alina Pahlevanyan.

This album includes six taghs by Grigor Narekatsi and the only Sharakan (hymn), the melodies of which have been sung continuously over centuries.

This publication of the Naregatsi Art Institute is unique because six of the taghs are presented in grabar (old Armenian) and ashkharhabar (contemporary Armenian), with the exception of the Sharakan and the "Tagh for the Holy Cross" (Havik). The album also includes sheet music of the taghs and sharakan, as well as a CD with the unparalleled performances by Gevorg Hunanian and Anna Mayilyan. The album is illustrated with modern solutions of medieval miniatures.

The event was attended by pastors, many artists and the Naregatsi Art Institute friends.
