Naregatsi Art Institute provides a special place for people with disabilities.
NAI has been constantly collaborating with the organizations and centers dealing with disability issues guided by its long-established mission to incorporate physically challenged people into the Armenian artistic sphere; to create a space and equal opportunities for their free expression and artistic potential; and to expose their talent and artistic capacities to the wider public.
On April 20, 2012 the Naregatsi Art Institute in collaboration with Zigzag LLC, handicapped businessman Mr. Antranig Boghossian, Laura Elbakyan and COAF kids organized a special solidarity event, “Embracing the Disabled”, comprised of a concert and an exhibition.
In the scope of the event wheelchairs, walkers, crutches and other gifts were handed to the Bridge of Hope NGO, the "Prkutyun" Center for Disabled Children and Youth, the “Tsil Busats” Harmonious Development Center, the “Shogh” Creative Center of Support for People with Disabilities, and the Lady Cox Rehabilitation Center.
The event brought together under one roof the representatives from the Embassies of the United States, France, Lebanon, delegations from various organizations dealing with disability issues, artists, businessmen, public and cultural figures.
