"Towards The Light" CD album

Naregatsi Art Institute released the Nova Folk Instruments Ensemble's "Towards The Light" CD album in 2022, which includes arrangements of spiritual, folk songs and dances.

The Nova Folk Instruments Ensemble's multi-genre program is notable for its rich palette and wide range. It includes works from Grigor Narekatsi to Komitas, Arno Babajanyan, Khachatur Avetisyan, Robert Petrosyan, Khachatur Nersisyan, Armen Mandakunyan, Tsovinar Hovhannisyan, Manvel Beglaryan, Andranik Nersisyan.

In addition to original works, the program also includes transcriptions and arrangements by Hovik Sahakyan, Grigor Arakelian, Anahit Harutyunyan, Komitas Keshishyan and others.
Arrangements of spiritual, folk songs and dances are presented by genre.

The spiritual songs are “Havoun- Havoun” (The Bird) , "Sourp-Sourp” (Holy, Holy), folk songs are "Dle Yaman", “Qeler, Tsoler”, "Hodallo jan".
The dances are “Yet u Araj” (Back and Forth), "Shirak Round Dance", "Shushan".

Moreover, Alexander Spendiaryan's "Persian March" and Edgar Hovhannisyan's song "Sardarapat" show the wide possibilities of the Folk Instruments Ensemble.

The CD of the Nova Youth Ensemble is released at the right time, because nowadays the cultural war is intensifying, which is leveling and pulverizing national values and traditions. Meanwhile, the music of the Nova not only radiates love and faith, it greatly contributes to the brightening of national identity and appeals to the future, responding to the bells of "Sardarapat".
